Objective: Configure the “skeleton” of your Chart of Accounts by defining segment lengths and labels.
1. Access Accounting Settings: From the Main Menu, click the Gear icon to access Administration. Under Company Setup, select Accounting Settings (or Account Definition depending on your version view).
2. Define Segment Lengths: Set the Fund length to “2” digits. Set the Object Code length to “4” digits.
3. Label Cost Centers: Under the Cost Center segment area, click the label dropdown. Select “Program” for the first cost center and set its length to “3”. If you do not need a second or third cost center, leave those lengths at “0”. Click Save.
