Practical Activity: Cash Flow Analysis

Objective: Generate reports to determine how much cash is required to pay bills and how much cash is expected from clients.

1. Run AP Aging:

    ◦ Navigate to Reports > Accounts Payable/Receivable > Vendor Subsidiary Aging.

    ◦ Report Type: Select Summary.

    ◦ As of Date: Today’s date.

    ◦ Generate: Click the PDF icon.

    ◦ Review: Look at the “Total” column to see your total immediate liability.

2. Run AR Aging:

    ◦ Navigate to Reports > Accounts Payable/Receivable > Client Subsidiary Aging.

    ◦ Report Type: Select Detail (to see specific unpaid invoices).

    ◦ As of Date: Today’s date.

    ◦ Generate: Click the PDF icon.

    ◦ Review: Identify any invoices in the “Over 90 Days” column that may require collection calls.

3. Check Commitments:

    ◦ Navigate to Reports > Accounts Payable/Receivable > PO Summary.

    ◦ Generate the report to see upcoming expenses that haven’t been invoiced yet.
