Module 2: System Navigation & User Experience builds on the basic orientation by teaching users how to efficiently move through and interact with the FastFund Online interface. The module begins with an in-depth look at the Dashboard, the central hub that provides a dynamic, real-time visual representation of your organization’s financial health. Users learn how to interpret Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), interact with visual pie charts and line graphs, and manage pending workloads by monitoring unposted entries or upcoming recurring transactions.
From the dashboard, the module explores how to execute daily operations using the horizontal Main Menu, the vertical sub-menus, and the Main Workspace where all lists, data entry forms, and reports appear. Because databases can grow quite large, a significant focus is placed on mastering FastFund’s powerful search and filtering tools. Users learn how to apply filter criteria to system lists—such as constituents, chart of accounts, or transactions—to easily isolate, view, and edit specific records without having to scroll through thousands of entries.
Finally, the module covers how to tailor the system to individual workflows using User Preferences. Each user can access their “My Account” settings to customize global display options, such as the number of items shown per page, default report font sizes, and duplicate transaction reference checking. Users also learn how to adjust their specific Dashboard preferences, such as sorting pie charts alphabetically or by dollar value, and toggling the Fund Raising Year-to-Date basis between the organization’s Fiscal Year or a standard Calendar Year.
