Module 10 – Overview

Module 10: Reporting, Analytics & Insights focuses on extracting your data to generate meaningful financial statements, analyze donor trends, and track the effectiveness of your fundraising efforts. The module begins with an overview of the reporting dashboard, where users learn to set standard parameters like date ranges and filter options. Users explore FastFund’s dynamic viewing features, utilizing the default HTML format’s interactive “drill-down” capability to jump directly from a report line item into the original source transaction or constituent profile. Additionally, users dive into their raw financial data by generating Transaction Reports, which act as the organization’s Books of Original Entry or Source Journals for cash, pledges, and in-kind gifts.

A major emphasis of the module is constituent analytics and measuring fundraising success. Users learn to generate Donor Summaries and Multi-Year Trend Analysis reports to easily spot donor giving patterns over multiple years, as well as Soft Credit Detail reports to track the advocates who secure donations on the organization’s behalf. To measure effectiveness, users explore Campaign Performance Reports, learning how to compare actual raised revenue against established goals to instantly see the variance of an appeal’s success. The module also covers the crucial annual compliance task of generating Year-End Donor Receipts for tax purposes, teaching users how to process these in bulk and automatically apply an “Acknowledgment Sent” action code to donor profiles to protect the audit trail.

Finally, the module introduces advanced data extraction and real-time insights. When standard reports are not enough, users learn to use the Custom Reports Builder to design highly specific detail or summary queries using Boolean logic (AND/OR statements) to deeply segment their database. The module concludes by returning to the Dashboard KPIs, teaching users how to interpret real-time visual metrics—such as outstanding pledge balances, appeals pie charts, and donations by month line graphs—and how to customize these charts to match the organization’s specific fiscal or calendar year preferences.
